Lifting Spirits in South OC;

From our mailbox:

Dear Rabbi Marcus,

Upon reflection, we would like to donate this check in addition to the one we already sent to you for being so kind and caring to us during my husbands recent hospital stay.

We send our very best and warmest wishes to you and your family, and Rabbi Kantor and his family.

Sincerely yours,

ST

Dear CJC,

We want to convey our gratitude for the gracious good wishes and the delicious meals that you provided.

We pray that G-d will give you blessings in abundance, shared with all your loved ones.

With love,

HSR

Dear Rabbi Marcus,

Thank you for your kindness and compassion.  You made me feel as though someone really cared.  I truly appreciate your help in a difficult time and how you reached out to me.  All the calls. You are superb.

The enclosed two resumes are for your review.  Please keep me in mind, as perhaps you hear of something that might fit my experience.  I’m trying to give back, therefore, something in non-profit work would be awesome.  I am in desperate need of a job A.S.A.P., therefore, even a general office, management, etc.  Please keep me in mind.   Again, thank you very much.

Sincerely,

KL

Chabad Recognized on Capitol Hill

This past week Capitol Hill was buzzing at the annual Living Legacy Leadership Conference put on by American Friends of Lubavitch Chabad.

The topic of the Living Legacy conference: The Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson's and Chabad’s achievements in the areas of education, morality and charity for which he was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 1994.
One after another, Jews and non Jews from both side of the political aisle came up to the podium and proclaimed their friendship to Chabad, the Jewish people and the State of Israel in front of a crowd that included Chabad-Lubavitch Shluchim, supporters and student leaders

7th Grade Hebrew School Publishes Booklet on Jewish Rituals

Click here to view or download their work

That's right the 7th graders of CJC's Hebrew School have published their own how-to booklet on Jewish rituals connected to Bar Mitzvah.

It is in a power point format with step-by-step instructions on how to pt on a talit, put on Teffilin, get called to the Torah and how to raise and wrap the Torah. Each step is accompanied by a picture where the students demonstrate exactly how to perform the instruction.

"this was a very fun project and I really enjoyed working on it" was one of the responses from the proud students.

One of the parents who viewed the presentation commented, "I think this should be made available to all synagogues and to as many people as possible, this makes these rituals accessible to anyone with little or no previous background".

The entire presentation will be up on our website in the near future.

A big mazal tov and congratulation to all the 7th grade boys and to their teacher Rabbi Marcus for this wonderful accomplishment.
