Community Passover Seder

Join us for a community Passover seder on the first night of Passover. There is limited space and seats fill up quickly, please don’t wait until the last minute unless you have no choice.
Early Bird Special is $40 per adult, $25 per child. After March 26, $45, $30.

Scholarships available. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Please let us know if you would like to sponsor someone so that they can attend.

Monday, March 29 at 7:00 pm.

Help Our Jewish Soldiers

We have received a request from Jewish soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan for Passover items. As you know it is very difficult for soldiers in such remote areas to keep their religious traditions and identity being away from family, friends and community, we want to support them in any way we can 

Here is a list of items requested:

 Items must have Kosher for Passover symbol on them OU-P or it may have a circle K with a P next to it.  It can also say Pesach which is the Hebrew word for Passover.

Here are items:

Haggadahs

Grape Juice

Tuna/Salmon (canned or in package)

Matzah

Candy

Passover Cookies/bake goods (store bought unless person has made their home Kosher for Passover)

Jelly or Jams

Tea, Coffee & Hot Cocoa

Chocolate Covered Matzah is a hit

Almonds, Walnuts, Pistachios, Cashews (no peanuts or legumes such as soynuts)

There is a Kosher for Passover Soda both 
Coke & Pepsi

Dried Fruit

Fruit Slices.  This is a candy.

Macaroons

Fruit roll ups.  (They must have Kosher for Passover on the package) comes in Apricot & Berry

Passover Cards both signed and blank for the soldiers to send to family members.

 All must be dropped off this Sunday at CJC. Thanks for your help and support. In the future we will have more notice.

Shmurah Matzah

Round, handmade, Shmurah Matzah is a very special way of celebrating the seder. Every year CJC makes this Matzah available to the entire Jewish community. If you would like to purchase some for your seder the prices are: $10 for 3 round matzot or $18 for a pound (there are about 8 round matzot in a pound). Make your order today. Orders must be in by Tuesday, March 16. Contact CJC at 770-1270 or email to [email protected], put matzah in the subject line.

 

Jwc Drum Circle Recap

Our fourth event in our 4th year of the Jewish Women's Circle was a certifiable success story!   This past Wednesday evening over 50 Jewish women came to CJC to experience the exhilaration of a drum circle, as well as to hear words of eternal wisdom from Rabbi Marcus on harnessing happiness. JBC Recap

JBC, the new Jewish Business Network of South Orange County, had its inaugural event this Thursday night, March 11. Close to 50 people showed up to participate in this exciting new group.

New Lower Price

To ensure that every child has a chance to have the summer experience of a lifetime, Silver Gan Israel has lowered the prices to help make it more affordable. 

 

Financial Aid

Due to the economic situation Silver Gan Israel Day Camp is offering the following options to help families during these trying times:

 

1. More flexible payment plans to allow for payments over an extended period. Call Joelle at 949 770-1270 for more details.

 

2. Scholarship grants. The local Federation offers limited scholarship money for day camp and it is a first come first serve basis. Contact them now to secure financial help. Click herewww.silvergan.com/685054 for the Federation Camp Scholarship Fund.

 

3. CJC offers its own limited scholarship fund on a first come first served basis. Call early to get approved and funded. Go towww.silvergan.com/685054 to get a scholarship form.

New AA Meeting

There is a new AA meeting in South County that meets at CJC. This is designed for Jewish people in recovery looking for a safe, Jewish environment. The group meets every Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm.
