JBC Speed Networking Event Recap
JBC, the new Jewish Business Network of South Orange County, had its inaugural event this Thursday night, March 11. Close to 50 people showed up to participate in this exciting new group.
The event was a big success and exceeded expectations. It began with schmoozing and noshing, introductions by Alexandra and the Kabbalah of Business by Rabbi Marcus and then the fun began. Have you ever been or seen a speed dating event well it is the same idea just instead of finding a mate you are learning about people’s business backgrounds and interest.
Everyone was seated across from another person, when the first bell rang one side shared about themselves, when the other bell rang the other side began to share. When the third bell rang it meant it was time to switch. Everyone on the inside got up and moved one seat to the right and once everyone was seated again it started all over again. Great idea, but when you have so many Jews in one room it is quite challenging to get them to stop talking and move. It was a lot of fun and a great way to meet lots of people. Many and good connections were made that night.
The response was overwhelmingly in favor of having this on a monthly basis. A big thank you goes to the people responsible for making this happen; Leon Fleyshman and Alexandra Kaplan and the committed team of volunteers and sponsors: Steven Greenberg, Merrill Greenhill, Analia Laroca, Ken Mark, and Alejandra Paz.
