Rabbi Zalman Marcus is a sought after speaker who spent 2 1/2 years in Australia mentoring young adults as well as visited outlying Jewish communities in New Zealand. He received his rabbinical ordination in 1994 at the Rabbinical College of America in Brooklyn, NY. In 1995, together with his wife Bassie, he co-founded the Chabad Jewish Center of Mission, the Cjc Hebrew school (a Hebrew school that does not require membership), and The Circle, a humanitarian community outreach program. In 2003 he opened the CJC synagogue (currently the only synagogue in Mission Viejo). He is the author of the B Mitzvah Discovery Course and writes a weekly email column with over 1300 recipients. An insightful and inspiring teacher and lecturer, specializing in Jewish mysticism. Has given 1000's of classes and lectures to Jewish and non-Jewish audiences. An auxiliary member of the hit chasidic rock group, 8th day. Father of 5 girls and 3 boys. His hobbies include writing, music and playing basketball.
