“Mitzvah 500,” An Elegant Evening, A Worthy Cause

Chabad Jewish Center of Mission Viejo celebrated its 9th year of service to the community Sunday, April 10, 2005, at its Mitzvah 500 Gala Dinner Extravaganza.

It was a special evening held at the Marconi Auto Museum in Tustin, where guests were surrounded by a multi-million dollar collection of historic, exotic, and classic cars.  The ambiance was set for an exciting & exhilarating evening.  Guests enjoyed delightful appetizers and cocktails as they socialized and took in the sights of the facility and the items to be auctioned.  The silent auction included a variety of interesting & valuable items including art, spa packages, legal services, gift certificates, gift baskets, jewelry, & much more.  Proceeds from the event benefited the Chabad Jewish Center, CJC Hebrew School and Silver Gan Israel Day Camp of South Orange County.

Rabbi Marcus’ brother, Chaim Marcus, was the master of ceremonies and guided us through the evening with his charm and humorous wit.  We heard thoughtful and inspiring speeches and stories from Rabbi Marcus, Rabbi Kantor, and Rabbi Yizchak Marcus.  Mr. and Mrs. Al and Celia Milchiker received the Generation to Generation award.  Community Builder awards went to Mr. and Mrs. Murray and Sonny Robinson and Dr. Michael and Barbara Gossman.  A fun-filled video presentation was shown of Silver Gan Israel Day Camp.

Guests were treated to a delicious gourmet dinner buffet while being entertained with live music.  It was a delightful and memorable evening filled with fun.  Chabad Jewish Center of Mission Viejo thanks all of those who have helped the Center serve the needs of the Jewish Community.  Click here for pictures.
